Shihao Shen is a Senior Research Scientist in the Center for Computational and Genomic Medicine at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. He received his Ph.D. in Biostatistics from the University of Iowa. His research is primarily focused on the development of statistical models and methods for association studies of gene splicing isoforms using high-through sequencing. He developed MATS and rMATS, which are widely-used software programs for the detection of differential alternative splicing using RNA sequencing. He also developed SURVIV, a statistical framework to identify gene isoform variations as prognosis biomarkers.
