How to use our VM for storing UCSC custom tracks.
1. Ask Nasir (RILEYN@chop.edu) to permit you to get access to the VM website machine and cc. Yi.
2. Once you have the permission, you can log in in our VM server with your own CHOP identity (ssh yourCHOPID@reslnxinglab01.research.chop.edu).
The path to store your bigwig files is /data/www/html/public/.
3. Please remember our server only has 100G available. Be careful when uploading big files. The way to upload your file is “scp /path/to/files username@reslnxinglab01.research.chop.edu:/path/to/upload/”. The action can only be done inside CHOP network.
4. To view the file you just uploaded, try http://reslnxinglab01.research.chop.edu/public/ inside of CHOP network. If you want to view the file outside of CHOP network, try http://xingd.research.chop.edu/public/.
5. Remember do not set the folder permission to 777 for any reason.
